Pinnacle Project

Urban and outdoor culture brought together in a series of music-led experiences, events and activations.

Enter the Pinnacle Project: a series of adventure-led activations that began at the peaks of the Italian Dolomites and made their way to the inner urban worlds of Berlin and Manchester to give The North Face’s fans a next level feeling of exploration and excitement – with each stop on the road offering something new, unique, and tailored for its environment.

The adventure started by opening a pop-up, at 2100 meters, hidden in the Italian Dolomite mountains, only reachable by foot. The pop-up featured The Athlete Archives: 8 collectors items worn by some of the great adventurers of our time.

Then we moved to the urban jungle, taking the pop up concept to urbanistas at Zalando’s Bread&&Butter, Berlin. Paying tribute to the TNF’s first store launch in 1966, we released 66 limited-edition customised Nuptse jackets.

The final leg of the Pinnacle Project landed in Manchester in collaboration with JD Sports. In homage to 1966 and the brand’s first store launch in San Francisco when local band Grateful Dead performed live, artists from Manchester took the stage on top of a carpark.
