Designing a budget hotel with a boutique soul. Moxy offers a playful environment for adults, that’s no place like home.

Marriott International aimed to create a brand that catered to Fun Hunter millennials, competing with Airbnb. We envisioned Moxy as ‘a budget hotel with a boutique soul’ and designed its brand identity to entice and excite a new generation of travelers.

While traditional hotels are presented as empty shells, with sleek lobbies, tidy beds and pristine views, Moxy is all about the real, unfiltered guest experiences.

At every touchpoint, we crafted experiences that encouraged interaction, such as lifesize photography indicating the floor number or a bedside phone that reads cheeky bedtime stories. With the Moxy Guestbook, guests share their social snaps through Moxy’s own digital platforms, giving future guest an insight into life #atthemoxy and connecting all Moxy’s in real time.

At first 20 Moxy Hotels were planned in Europe. Today there are 161 Moxy hotels on four continents.
